Piano Through the Ages, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and more…
Some of the Purcell School’s most talented young pianists present a programme that explores how music for keyboard has developed with the advances in the instruments themselves. From Bach, writing for early keyboard instruments (harpsichord, clavichord, organ), to Beethoven who composed for fortepiano, through to Chopin, Janáček and Debussy, whose music showcases the versatility of the modern piano: journey into the history of the piano.
