Nicholas Bayley Double Bass Masterclass

We are very pleased to welcome Nicholas Bayley, Principal Double Bass of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, to take a masterclass with our double bass students.
At the age of 24 Nicholas Bayley was appointed as principal bassist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and led the section until 2009, when he assumed his current position as principal bassist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. He has given many solo recitals across Britain and has performed concertos with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the most notable of these in 2009 when he gave the world premiere performance of Hafliði Hallgrímsson’s Double Bass Concerto Sonnambulo, a work written especially for Bayley to play with the SCO. Nicholas is also a tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
The masterclass is free to attend but donations to a retiring collection will be gratefully received.
