65 young woodwind players from around the UK came to Purcell to take part in an afternoon of workshops, ensemble playing, and performance classes on Sunday 29 January. The day was kindly supported by Prozone Music, and coached by members of The Purcell School’s Woodwind Department, run by Joy Farrall.
The day was aimed at young musicians who are at grade 6 standard and above, and our participants were aged nine to 17.
“I had a really good time, and it was so much fun to play with so many other clarinettists!” – Matthew, grade 6
”Hannah had a great time at the Woodwind Day yesterday! She learned a lot from the masterclass and enjoyed playing with a group of very good, motivated flautists. Thank you!” – parent of Hannah, grade 7.
